In August 2020, Christena was appointed dentsu's first Chief Equity Officer. There is no question that she joined at a critical time for the company, the industry at large, and at a time of tremendous unrest and uncertainty. She reflects on her journey in this letter.

We are seeing slight increases in the diversity of our hiring throughout 2020 and into 2021, vs. 2019, with women accounting for 60% of Americas hires and multicultural representing 33% of US hires. Our ambition is to have a more diverse candidate pool from all underrepresented backgrounds, inclusive of LGBTQIA+, differing ability levels, military and Veterans.

2020 Data Highlights

We continue to see strong overall representation of women at 58% of our Americas region, up +4% from our summer 2020 snapshot.
